Salam, y’all: About the writer

Hello, readers! I am a graduate student at Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism. I have a double degree in political science and Near Eastern Languages and Civilization from the University of Washington in Seattle .
I grew up in Seattle and traveled the Middle East since childhood. In the summer of 2004, I was an intern at the Center for Defending Freedom of Journalists in Amman and have since dedicated much of my time to writing on the Middle East and Islam.
I hope you enjoy reading and I’d love to know what you think.
Salam (peace),
Hanady
