Although the Al Jazeera news network is not readily available to most Americans on TV, its website in English is. Al Jazeera’s show Everywoman offers a variety of stories from women, to women and about women. Their coverage is not limited to the Middle East.
Al Jazeera has not shied away from difficult topics in the past and American viewers might be a little surprised by how forthcoming they are with their stories. The photographs and video footage they use to supplement stories are especially compelling.
The best part: The show is available to watch on YouTube.
They tackle everything from genital mutilation to Forbes Top 100 women and Iranian women writers. The interviews are fantastic and many of them are with activists who deal with these issues firsthand.
